Preventative health reminders are common to all Australians within a specific demographic and do not disclose any information with regards to a patient’s medical condition or treatment, for example Skin Checks, Immunisations, Cervical Screenings, Prostate Checks, 75 year and general Health Assessments to mention but a few, are widely advertised as important to the health and wellbeing of all Australians. Plain text messages would thus not breach patient privacy and are not “illegal”.
